Comprising the de Young Museum in Golden Gate Park and the Legion of Honor in Lincoln Park, the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco are together the largest public arts institution in the City of San Francisco, and one of the largest art museums in the United States.
The staff, the Board of Trustees, the volunteers, and various support groups are continuously working together to ensure the optimal utilization, display, preservation, and enrichment of this magnificent collection. The Fine Arts Museums believe that each employee contributes directly to the Museums' growth and success, and upholds the Museums' mission to make art accessible to the large and diverse Bay Area audience.
The Fine Arts Museums are currently experiencing an exciting renaissance with the recent arrival of Director Max Hollein. We welcome more than 1.5 million visitors annually to enjoy an ambitious schedule of special exhibitions and education programs along with our world-class collection of 151,000 important artworks. Under the new leadership of Mr. Hollein, the staff is building on these successes to further expand the Museums’ reach with an exciting array of innovative and groundbreaking projects.
COFAM is the Corporation of Fine Arts Museums and is the privately funded non-profit corporation which supports the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, a department of the City and County of San Francisco.
